“Provision of high-quality, timely, and effective urology care to the Mornington Peninsula community”

Paul Gilmore graduated as a doctor 1996 before entering into a broad training in surgery and urology. This training included a two year research period with Cancer Research UK investigating the cellular basis of prostate cancer. Paul’s research led to him obtaining research grants worth over $100,000 from the British Urological Foundation and The Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2001. Paul published widely on his research and obtained his higher degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Manchester University.

Paul followed his research with specialist training in urology. His training covered all aspects of urological diseases and surgery. To finish his training in minimally invasive cancer surgery, Paul undertook the prestigious Laparoscopic and Robotic Uro-oncology Fellowship with Melbourne robotic surgical pioneer and world renowned robotic prostate cancer surgeon, Professor Tony Costello.

Paul has obtained dual Fellowships of both the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Paul also maintains professional memberships of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand, the British Association of Urological Surgeons, The American Urological Association, the European Urological Association and the Société Internationale d’Urologie.

Paul is the current Chair of the Victorian Section of the Urological Association of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ).

Paul Gilmore remains very active academically with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), acting as the Chair of the Urology Speciality Specific Exams and as an active member of the Physiology General Surgical Sciences Exam Committee.

Paul has worked in Frankston and on the Mornington Peninsula since 2010 and was asked to head the Urology Unit at Peninsula Health in January 2016.
